The Real Dirt

The Real Dirt was intended to share timely and accurate information regarding commercial and other development in Benbrook. The Benbrook Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) is here to answer your questions, as much as we are able to publicly share information without jeopardizing possible developer deals. The Real Dirt acted as rumor patrol, offering the real dirt on development activities, our approach, and practical answers to real citizen questions.

As of 2026, the City has launched Benbrook at a Glance, a public dashboard that presents “The Real Dirt” information in a new interactive map format. The upgraded “Real Dirt” offers a clear snapshot of active community development and capital improvement projects. The map highlights applications for new commercial construction, tenant remodels, rezoning requests, subdivision activity, and City projects, helping residents stay informed about growth and development across the community.
