First elected in 2014, Renee Franklin is serving her second term as council member for the City of Benbrook. She previously served three years on the Zoning Board of Adjustment/Appeals Commission. She has lived in Benbrook since 2001. She is currently dog mom to Maggie, an 11-year old dachshund/collie mix and is passionate about her family (immediate and extended).

Renee graduated Cum Laude from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. She currently works for a financial and insurance company as an Intermediate Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst, and is a small business owner providing mathematical mentoring and organizational services.

Renee serves as a volunteer in Benbrook’s annual events, such as Trash Bash, Heritage Fest, and National Night Out. She extends her volunteer spirit at Christ Church Fort Worth and participates in numerous walks to raise money and awareness for organizations including, but not limited to, Cowtown Half-Marathon on the Alzheimer’s Association ALZ Stars® team, Women’s Center Victory Over Violence and the Susan G. Komen 3-Day®. Renee is an active member and volunteer of Benbrook 4PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving), a non-profit organization exclusively for the promotion of animal welfare with emphasis on reduction of euthanasia of stray animals at Benbrook’s Animal Shelter.
