In an effort to decrease the number of false alarms and increase quality of service, Benbrook requires a permit for all alarm systems that summon emergency services, regardless of whether or not the alarm is monitored by an alarm company.
A two-year permit application
can be downloaded and returned by mail or in person along with the $30 fee to the Benbrook Police Department. The department will notify applicants via mail when renewal is required.
Responses to residential and commercial false alarms are increasingly taxing on police and fire department resources, reducing the availability of first-responders for emergency situations.
